This from the epicenter of Silicon Valley: Block party hackathon took place in Palo Alto, California this last weekend. Creativity, collaboration, and a robotic petting zoo? Whoa!
Launching in Palo Alto on March 31, 2012 from 1pm-1am, Super Happy Block Party is taking over one of the busiest streets in Palo Alto and transforming it into a collaborative playing field for all to enjoy. Artists, designers, and creatives from Silicon Valley will join hackers and software engineers in a multimedia mashup conversation. In addition to fleets of the Bay Area’s best food trucks, there will be indoor Hack Spaces, VC Office hours, a Silent Disco Zone and even a Tech Petting Zoo housing the latest robots.
“As we watch our community evolve with the technology and innovation created by our own hands, it’s events like these that allow us to pause, look around, and see how much of an impact one idea at a time can make. Super Happy Block Party intends to be a place where it all comes together,” says Dror Berman of Innovation Endeavors.
“Super Happy Block Party will foster new ideas and collaboration across the Silicon Valley technology community,” says David Krane, Partner at Google Ventures. “Much of the community will come together for this weekend in the Palo Alto Innovation Corridor — from the aspiring entrepreneur, to the hacker coding in a friend’s basement, to the VC that simply loves disruptive ideas.”
