Wisdom 2.0 returns to the Bay Area and I need your vote!
I have applied to run an interactive breakout session at the 2016 Wisdom 2.0 Conference in San Francisco entitled, “Mindfulness and Creativity in the Workplace: How to Build Cultures of Innovation.”
The first round of voting is open to the general public, which means ANYONE CAN VOTE, EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT ATTENDING THE CONFERENCE.
Since the first round is open to anyone and everyone, the contest is going to be crazy unpredictable.
Your vote will help get me into the top 15 of the over 100 entries that have been submitted.

About the People’s Stage at Wisdom 2.0
Each year, Wisdom 2.0 holds a contest for attendees who want to present on subjects that are meaningful and relative to the conference. Each contestant submits a one-minute video outlining their topic. Historically, the organizers narrow down the contestants to around twenty, then the attendee’s voted to see who would present.
This year, the voting will be open to everyone, including those who aren’t attending. That means, regardless of if you are attending the conference or not, you can vote the sessions you’d like to see presented.
The Focus of my People’s Stage Presentation at Wisdom 2.0
This year, my interactive session is entitled, “Mindfulness and Creativity in the Workplace: How to Build Cultures of Innovation”. I gave a related talk at Google earlier this year. But in this one I will be focusing on satisfying the three core needs of human beings and how doing so leads to innovation. Here’s my breakout session’s synopsis:
No matter who you are, no matter what you do, there are three core human needs that drive you. Connection, making a difference, and meaning.
At a fundamental level, both mindfulness and creativity share this in common: They are tried and true paths for fulfilling these core needs. Furthermore, when mindfulness and creativity are combined, they catalyze one another and begin to permeate all aspects of your personal and professional lives.
Whether you’re a leader, a manager, or an employee, or even a solopreneur striving to create networks of prosperity around you, when you couple mindfulness and creativity as practices, you actively build enlivening ecosystems of innovation.
In this session, we’ll explore the links between mindfulness, creativity, and our core human needs, as well as how we can actively build culture of innovation through simple, tried and true means of bringing out the best in all those around us.
I get by with a little help from my friends
All the footage was shot on my iPhone in the Bay Area and in the Golden Gate watershed. I wrote the script and Andy Lambert help me refine it. I edited the video with the footage. The music, “Starry”, was generously supplied by James Kirsch, aka General Fuzz. You can enjoy more of his music here.
Where do I cast my vote?
Again, the voting doesn’t start until December 21st. Here’s the official word from the organizers:
The first round of voting begins December 21st and is open to the public to narrow the first batch of nearly 100 applications down to the Top 15. The Top 15 will be announced on January 15, when the second round of voting open only to registered Wisdom 2.0 attendees.
