I am excited to announce that I will be speaking at the Lighting in a Bottle Festival in Silverado, California this coming Memorial Day weekend. I will be looking forward to sharing the stage with Rev Michael Bernard Beckwith, Barbara Marx Hubbard, and Daniel Pinchbeck, author of the edgy and provocative, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl as well as the creator of Reality Sandwich, an online magazine for activism and visionary thinking. I’m looking forward to learning from others and enjoying the inspiring creativity of the many artists, musicians, and performers. Thank you all for sharing!
In my talk, I will be looking at creativity through the lens of Vajrayana Buddhism, outlining a framework for designing and building sacred space. Here is the synopsis:
Are you longing to make a difference in the world but don’t know where to begin? Are you intrigued by the idea of more of a conscious, enriching, and sustainable built environment but are unsure of how all the pieces fit together? For anyone wanting to deepen their relationship with both the natural world and the built landscape, this event is a must. Using the time-tested organizing principles of Vajrayana (Tantric) Buddhism, and the never-ending connectedness of our own bodies, minds, and spirits with the world around us, this talk will create a sacred framework for addressing present challenges, challenges such as attaining personal fulfillment, meaningful living, sustainability, green building, and eco-friendly design. The goal of the talk will be to take the stagnant energy of our challenges and confusion and convert it into wisdom and compassion.
