I am very excited to announce that this last weekend I received notice from the Science & Nonduality Conference (SAND). My talk, “Creativity and Nonduality: How The Tension Between Egoic Identity and the Absolute Self Shapes the Creative Process” will be part of this year’s line up. Here’s the official word:
Thank you for your submission to SAND12 US and Congratulations! I am excited to inform you that following the review by the Program Committee, your submission entitled ‘Creativity and Nonduality: How The Tension Between Egoic Identity and the Absolute Self Shapes the Creative Process ‘ has been accepted for 20 Minute Oral presentation at the conference. With your contribution, SAND 2012 will be another defining moment in the convergence of science with ancient wisdom.
I completely agree with the organizers of this event: We are at a time of convergence between the ancient and the modern. Our ability to blend both, I believe, will be an important factor in determining the fate of the human race over the next several decades. And since we have the unique ability to create among species, I do believe that the way in which we embrace our creativity, and the way we go about creating will also be important factors.
My view of creativity is a blend between cutting edge science and age old wisdom, between the finite ego and the absolute Self, between heaven and earth. In short, for me, creativity is one of the most powerful expressions of nonduality. I am grateful to the Science and Nonduality team for including me in the conversation!
