Slivers of Eternity: One Minute Meditations on the Ground of Creativity, #20

In this clip, filmed in January 2012 at the Berkeley Rose Garden overlook, a waxing gibbous moon hangs in the sky, its mystical light shining on the waters of the San Francisco Bay. In the foreground, the lights of West Berkeley, Albany, and Richmond twinkle like stars, creating a sense of heaven on earth, or earth dissolving into heaven.

The overlook at the Berkeley Rose Garden is very special to me. I proposed to my wife, Epiphany Shaw, there on April 2, 2009, after we found out on April Fool’s Day that she was pregnant with our future daughter, Sierra Lucia. I pass by the overlook almost everyday and take a moment to take in the beauty and magic of San Francisco, Mt. Tamalpais, the waters of the Bay, and the majestic Golden Gate.
